EGR203 Electric and Electronic Circuits Assignment 12
- Given the following circuit of an external resistor
RS = 200 Ω and a diode with
turn-on voltage VT = 0.7 V and internal resistance
RD = 1 Ω, find the voltage
VD and current iD for a source
voltage VS = 12 V.
- Given the following circuit, in which R1 = 200 Ω,
R2 = 100 Ω, V1 = 6 V, and V2 = 3 V.
Assume the diode turn-on voltage is 0.7 V. Find the current through the circuit. Find the
voltage V1 for which the diode just starts to conduct.
- Given the following circuit, in which R1 =
R2 = R3 = 100 Ω, a diode with turn-on voltage
VT = 0.7 V, and source voltage VS
= 5 V. Find iD.
Hint: Consider the Thévenin equivalent circuit.
- Solve the previous problem in Multisim, assuming a 1N4148 diode.
- The diodes in the circuit below have a turn-on voltage of 0.7 V.
Determine the state of the diodes and the value of Vx and i.
VS | R1 | R2 | R3 | R4
