Digital Signal Processing Assignment 6

Submit the assignment in the usual format.

  1. Do Mitra problem 3.40

  2. Do Mitra problem 3.45

  3. Do Mitra problem 3.80 (p 169) and M 3.7 (p 170)

  4. Given the following causal IIR transfer function (see Mitra problem 6.39)

determine the analytic form of the inpulse response (h[n]). You may use residuez if necessary. Compare to the result obtained from impz.

  5. Given the transfer function from Mitra 6.39, use Matlab routines freqz, zplane, and grpdelay, phasez, impz, and stepz to generate plots of filter performance.

  6. Enter the transfer function from Mitra 6.39 into Matlab fdatool and exercise all of the filter analysis functions.

  7. Exercise all of the filter functions in Matlab fvtool (filter visualization GUI) for the transfer function from Mitra 6.39.

  8. Compare the results from the Matlab routine grpdelay to those from your routine from exercise 3 (M 3.7) for Mitra problem 6.39. They should match.
