Digital Signal Processing Assignment 10

Submit the assignment in the usual format.

  1. Do Mitra problems 9.1 through 9.3

  2. Do Mitra problems M 9.5 and M 9.6

  3. Do Mitra problems M 9.8 and M 9.9

  4. Do Mitra problems M 9.11 and M 9.12

  5. All of the exercises below assume a sample frequency of 8000 Hz. Furnish filter descriptions (transfer function coefficients), a pole-zero plot, and frequency response for each filter. The frequency response plots should verify the passband and stopband requirements of each design.

    1. Design an IIR band-pass filter to select the frequency 852 Hz with a bandwidth of 50 Hz and attenuate other frequencies to better than 60 dB.

    2. Design an IIR filter that will reject frequencies in the range 650 Hz to 1000 Hz to better than 40 dB and pass frequencies in the range 0-500 Hz and 1200-4000 Hz with an attenuation of no more than 0.1 dB.

    3. Design an IIR high-pass filter that will attenuate frequencies less than 10 Hz to better than 60 dB and pass frequencies greater than 100 Hz with an attenuation of no more than 1 dB.
